Pedestrian Doors & Airlock Systems

EnVision® provides a range of engineered pedestrian door and airlock systems designed to provide safe, controlled access for personnel in underground mining and other demanding industrial environments.

Our pedestrian door solutions facilitate efficient personnel movement while supporting ventilation control, pressure management, and emergency egress where required. Systems can be configured for a variety of applications, including standalone pedestrian access, integration into larger mine door systems, and personnel airlock applications.

All EnVision® pedestrian door systems can be custom-engineered and fabricated to meet the specific dimensions, operating conditions, and requirements of each mine or project.

Pivot Rotary Pedestrian Door

The EnVision® Pivot Rotary Pedestrian Door System consists of a balanced, counterweight-assisted swing door mounted within a robust metal frame. The door pivots around its central axis, allowing approximately 180° of rotation.

Designed for personnel access in areas subject to high wind loads and differential pressure, the system provides controlled and reliable operation under demanding conditions.

A counterweight, controlled by a hydraulic damper assembly, assists the door’s movement and ensures controlled, safe closure.

Each door can be custom-fabricated to suit specific project requirements, with virtually any combination of height and width available.

Operational & Design Features and Specifications

  • Standard size: Clear opening of 635 mm × 2,114 mm; overall frame dimensions 1,326 mm × 2,229 mm.
  • Larger custom size: Clear opening of 838 mm × 2,108 mm; overall frame dimensions 1,622 mm × 2,257 mm.

  • Available in left-hand or right-hand configurations.

  • Door skin options:

      • 3.17 mm flat steel sheet
      • 4–5 mm HardLine® sheet
  • Counterweight-assisted operation helps maintain door closure under high differential pressure conditions.

  • Observation windows can be incorporated where required.

  • Neoprene sealing at the closing angle helps minimise air leakage.

  • Custom fabrication available to suit specific height and width requirements.

  • Finished in safety yellow with a durable two-part epoxy paint system.

Sliding Pedestrian Door Within Mine door

Used in high-pressure applications where room is not available to install a “stand alone” pedestrian door to the side of the primary mine door. These doors feature a dual-roller trolley for reduced friction, allowing them to open and close easily in all environments. Roller bearings at the bottom of the door reduce friction and allow the door to glide freely. Doors are typically gravity closure type to ensure doors stay in the closed position after entry/exit.

Personnel Airlock Man-Way Tunnel

Our Mine Door dual man way chamber eliminates dangerous change of air pressure from one section of the mine to the other without breaching the ventilation route. This two door “Box style” chamber permits the safe, easy passage of pedestrians between different air-pressures.
